Event Details
Magic The Gathering was released in 1993, making it the oldest and most popular Collectible Card Game on the market. The strategy game requires two or more players, each with a customized deck of cards. With millions of players around the world, it's easy to find someone to play with, but it's not always easy to know how to get started.
This workshop is designed to teach the key concepts of Magic to new players unfamiliar with the game by way of a short presentation followed by facilitated gameplay. The hope is that at some point in the future, the Forest Library will be able to host more Magic The Gathering nights for teenagers.
Each participant will receive a Magic ‘Welcome Deck’ (donated by Dragonfire Games of Lynchburg), which contains two 30-card decks designed for beginners. By the end of the workshop, players should have the supplies and enough information to introduce the game to play with a friend.
This is a workshop for BEGINNERS, so if you are already familiar with Magic, you might not be able to get much out of this event, BUT if you would like to help facilitate gameplay, you can get in touch with Drew Meyer (dmeyer@bpls.org).
Supplies are limited, and registration is required
