Program Description

Event Details

In this workshop, you will learn some basic techniques for transforming discarded books into a highly personalized piece(s) of art.

We will be trying a variety of techniques to transform the cover and pages of your book(s).  Participants will be using painting, collage, journaling, rubber stamping, photo transfer, embellishing, and some elements of scrapbooking to create your unique Altered book(s).

We will be working on multiple books so that we do not need to wait for the paper to dry before we continue with a different technique.

Materials will be provided but participants are encouraged to bring an assortment of copies of photos, ephemera, scraps of fabric, ribbon, tags, old cards, or anything that contains pleasing images that you wish to incorporate into your work, as well as a mat knife if you have one.

The class will break from 12-1 for lunch. Participants should bring their own or order lunch from several local restaurants nearby.
