Program Description

Event Details

The library is wild about animals! The Southwest Virginia Wildlife Center of Roanoke is partnering with the Forest Library this summer for our Tails and Tales Summer Reading Program.

Join us to learn all about tall-tales, folklore, and common misconceptions about local wildlife. Volunteers from the SVWC will introduce two or three wild animal ambassadors to discuss their roles in these stories as well as the facts of their species' everyday lives.

This event will be held outdoors, and participants are encouraged to bring chairs or towels for seating if possible. ONE Registration for each FAMILY is required for the event and space is limited. Once spots are full, be sure to put your family name on the waitlist, as we may be able to shift seats closer to the event. Masks are required for anyone ages 5+ and must be worn over the mouth and nose.
