Event Details

The Friends of the Moneta/SML Library continue their series of author talks with "Fiction or Nonfiction, Your Choice." Authors Donna Minnix Proctor and David Pope will be speaking. Donna, who writes women's fiction, will speak from 2:00-3:00 PM, and David, who writes about true stories as an EMT, will speak from 3:00-4:00 PM.

Donna began writing in the 1980s on a dare and has three novels currently in print. She also has several magazine articles to her credit as well as a recurring column in The Roanoke Times during the early 2000s. In addition to writing, Donna has directed and acted in dozens of religious plays and skits. Professionally, Donna had a 40+ year career in community service. Now that she's retired, she enjoys acting and volunteering for community theater.

David has had a varied career, from a newspaper ad salesman and reporter to a railroad construction supervisor. A constant in his life was his service with fire and rescue. His emergency services career began in 1985 and ran through 2010 when he retired. Now that he's retired, he enjoys fishing, playing the guitar, and photography.

Registration is recommended so you receive an email reminder before the event.
