Rock-A-Bye Reader is a lap-sit program for babies with rhymes, music, movement, stories, free play, and parenting resources.  This session is for children from birth up to 21 months old.

Rock-A-Bye Reader is a lap-sit program for toddlers ages 21 months to 3 years old.  Come join us for rhymes, music, movement, stories, free play, and parenting resources.

Join us at the Big Island Library to read the book of the month and share insights and stories.  The book club is held on the 3rd Tuesday of every month. 

Join us every Tuesday at 2:00 PM (except holidays), bring your projects, and knit or crochet with us!

New members are always welcome, and no experience is necessary. Come learn with us!

Children and Teens (ages 9-17) are invited to join us on the 3rd Tuesday of each month as we create incredible things with our imagination and LEGO blocks!

Rock-A-Bye Reader is a Lap Sit program focusing on action songs and movements that develop fine motor skills for newborns and children up to age 23 months.

Come join us for our interactive story time for children ages 2 to 3 years old - Toddler Time!  This story time will feature books, movement songs, scarves, parachutes, crafts, and musical instruments.

Would you like to learn, improve, or practice your English? ESL teacher Barbara Stevenson can help you. Whether you are a beginner, intermediate, or advanced level. Come and meet other people and make new friends.

Join us for a morning of learning about Boating Safety! Open to all ages! Multiple games and activities, including create your own boat! Walk through at your own pace.

Join us at the Big Island Library for Building Club! Use our assortment of building materials, including LEGO® bricks, wooden blocks, and K’nex connectors, to construct what your imagination sees, OR accept this month's challenge.

What's On The  Menu This Month...

Thank you for participating in our Bedford County Library Community Book Project!    

We will be displaying these books for 2 weeks in each of our library branches, starting with Bedford, Forest and Moneta.  

Children and teens ages 10 and up are invited to join us every Thursday evening (except on holidays) as we go on an epic Dungeons and Dragons Adventure!  Both new and experienced players are welcome.

Feeling stuck in your writing journey? Need to set aside some dedicated writing time outside of your routine? Want a casual and comfortable environment to work on your project?

If you are a chess enthusiast or interested in learning more about the game, please join us every Thursday evening from 6:30 to 7:30 PM (except holidays)! 

Registration is not required unless you wish to receive an email event reminder.

The Friday Breakfast Book Club meets on the last Friday of every month (except on holidays) to discuss a different book.  

Treat yourself to an afternoon of tea, snacks, and literary conversation. This program is for ages 18 and up. Registration is required to attend - please provide your email address.
