Textile and fiber art by members of the Textile Artists of Virginia (TAVA) group will be on display in the MOarts Gallery from December 1, 2025, through January 31, 2026.

The latest show by the Textile Artists of Virginia (TAVA) to be exhibited in the MOarts Gallery in the Moneta/SML Library is entitled “RE+.”  Two letters provide almost endless possibilities to build words ranging from “read” to “rehabilitation”. The Textile Artists of Virginia are well known for their way with words, be they as short as the 3-letter word “red” or as long as 15 letters building “repetitiousness”. TAVA members reflected, reacted, and responded to reach real results and realize this renewable, relaxing, realm of remarkable fiber art. A thread was tied between the art of quilting words and libraries through their shared purpose of preserving and relaying culture through generations, both of which can be found in this exhibit.

The artists participating in the exhibit are: Linda Carol Adrienne, Elizabeth Billingsley, Linda E. Black, Arlene L. Blackburn, Meryl Ann Butler, Tina Freudenberger, Gwen Goepel, Paula Golden, Martha Mabry, Judy Madigan, Jenny Marin, Carol Monti, Marietta Billau Nester, Anne Panella, Leslie Karen Pendleton, Shirley Sellers, Gloria Smith, and Karin Tauber.

Textile Artists of Virginia (TAVA) is a consortium of artists that support and encourage each member as a fiber artist through sharing ideas and techniques, as well as exploring the boundaries of the medium with programs and hands-on activities.  TAVA increases public awareness of fiber art through exhibits and public engagement.

Previous TAVA collections have been exhibited at the Virginia Quilt Museum, Mid-Atlantic Quilt Festival and the Taiwan International Quilt Exhibition.

The “RE+” exhibit by TAVA may be viewed during regular library hours, December 1, 2025, through January 31, 2026.
